Diamond Peak and Sledding in Tahoe Meadows
Julia looking out onto Lake Tahoe. She actually said she wanted to go swimming. Um, no, I don't think so!
Sledding! Needed some shades!

Mt Rose
On the first full day in Tahoe, we went up to Mt Rose to check out the new snow. Alex took a two hour lesson, which ended up being a one on one session and he really had fun and picked up from where he left off last year. Julia and David practiced by the lodge and the Mt Rose photographer took this great shot of the two of them.

Cross Country Ski Adventure
The horse with two monkeys in the pulk

Finished the loop!
On one of our days in Tahoe Donner we decided to check out the cross country ski area, which seems quite nice. There are lots of trails for all levels and the scenery is beautiful. We geared up, with David pulling a pulk sled to pull the kiddos in. Julia was not exactly thrilled about being in the sled with her brother, I think primarily because she was trying to sit in his lap and kept slipping down and could not see. It was also right around naptime, so she really just wanted to go to sleep. I ended up taking her out of the pulk and just putting her in the Ergo on my back so that she could cuddle and sleep. We took a couple of spills, but all in all, it was alot of fun. Alex enjoyed having Daddy be the horse for the day, but I think next time we will get him on some cross country skis as he has plenty of energy to burn off!

First Day on the Slopes
Tahoe Donner, the development where we stayed, has a great ski slope for kiddos, so Alex took lessons there for two days while we were up there. David did lots of practice with him after lessons, going up on the magic carpet over and over again, with Alex on skis and David on his snowboard. On the third day, they just did alot of practice runs and had a fun time. By the second day he was doing great. I'll post a video later. These photos are from the first day. It was a beautiful day, with lots of sun and very mild temperatures. Julia was really wishing that she could ski like her big brother and frequently would point at the chair lift, trying to get me to take her up for a ride. Fortunately, they had one of the chairs set up as a swing, so that did appease her somewhat. We spent the rest of our time sliding down the hill sans sled. She loved it!
