Tidepooling

We went tidepooling at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve a couple of weeks ago, since it was the last really low tide for the summer.  Unfortunately, we didn't see as many creatures as we normally do, but everyone had fun nonetheless.  We saw quite a few crabs, lots of hermit crabs and some periwinkles, but no sea stars.  All of the anemones were closed up, probably because it was super low.  We had a fun time.  Alex and Ryan liked exploring together and Julia was so enamored with Charlotte, as always.  Beautiful weather, no fog and lots of fun!

A Quilt for Mrs. Rodriguez

All of Alex's Kindergarten classmates with their fabulous teacher, Mrs. Rodriguez and the quilt with all of their names on it.

The note on the back of the quilt.

The tree with all of the leaves on it.  Each child wrote their own name.

Earlier in the year, I was trying to think of a good keepsake to give to Mrs. Rodriguez at the end of the year.  She was a fabulous teacher and this was her first year teaching at LP, so when I stumbled upon some quilts similar to the one above, I thought it would be perfect for her.  I had every intention of finishing it all myself, but Mom so graciously took it on, after we worked together to pick out fabric and design it while she was here.  I had each child sign their name on a piece of fabric and then she cut them all out into leaves.  Thanks so much for making the quilt a reality, Mom!  It looked so nice and much, much nicer than it would have if I had done it.  You allowed me to focus on Julia's party and the End of the Year party, which was super, super helpful!  Mrs. Rodriguez loved it and she had tears on that day, along with a couple of others, including myself.

Last Day of Kindergarten!

In the maple tree in the front yard on the final day of Kindergarten.

 With Daddy and Julia.

How did this year go by so quickly.

 Ready to walk to school.

Ryan, Alex and Riley at the back entrance to school.

Everyone was an early bird on the last day of school, so there were more people than normal for "walk pool".

Alex and his friends walked up with some of the big kids, instead of a parent.  Big boys on the last day of Kindergarten.

After school, all ready for summer!

It's Summer!

On the last day of school, we met up with The Silvermans at Tangelo to celebrate summer!

His Own Library Card!

Alex now has his own library card.  He used it to check out books on his own the other day.

Yet Another Use for the Purple Sled

It also can be used as a windsurfing board!

Yearbook Time

He "might" like his yearbook from Kindergarten!

Julia's 3rd Birthday Party!

We had a birthday party on Saturday for Julia's 3rd birthday.  Since she likes the movie, "Frozen", she wanted to have a "Frozen" party.   We had a few of our good friends over and the kiddos played and we all had some wine, food and of course, some cake.  Jules debuted her Elsa dress and even took her "motorcycle" for a spin in her new dress.  It was a beautiful day for a party, so we enjoyed it to the fullest.

Our Bird Friends

Happy Birthday, Julia!

Jules celebrated her 3rd birthday with a few of her friends at the park this morning.  Jake, Mike, Noah and Gio came to play, eat cupcakes and blow bubbles at Moraga Commons.  Julia spent a lot of time riding her "motorcycle" and liked racing some little pull back ladybug cars with the boys.

Having Fun with Jia Ying

The kids had alot of fun with Jia Ying for a few days.  They were sad to leave her in Tahoe, but hopefully we will see her again soon!

Beach!

We spent a morning at one of our favorite beaches while in Tahoe.  We got there early and had the beach to ourselves for quite awhile before anyone else showed up.  The water is still cold, but was warm enough for us to wade in.  The kids were busy trying to catch/trap tiny fish, but were happy to take a break and enjoy a picnic on the beach.
