First Time in the Pool
One of Alex's classmates had a pool party at his house today, so the three of us went over and enjoyed the cool pool on this nice warm day. It was Julia's first time in the pool and she loved it! I got a little spring float for her and she was so comfortable that it appeared she may fall asleep. As you can see, she enjoyed a little popsicle treat as well. Thanks to the Landays for the cute swim attire!

I Can Climb
In the past week or so, Julia has discovered that she can climb up onto the kid chairs (and table) in the playroom. She is so proud of herself when she does it and is obsessed with doing it, every time she goes in that room now. She is so tiny, so it looks strange to see her sitting at the table. As soon as she realizes that crayons don't taste good, she'll be coloring up a storm! For now, she just practices going up and down.

Mimi in the Drawer
While I was making dinner tonight, Julia decided to explore some of the kitchen. Surprisingly, up to this point, she had only been interested in the extra kitchen tool drawer. Today, she found a new drawer and just decided to hop in and explore.

Campfire Season
Campfire season has arrived! We had our first one tonight, complete with golden brown marshmallows and s'mores. Alex helped to set up and make the fire and Julia was quite proud of sitting in one of the big chairs. We listened to music, enjoyed the fire for a bit and made s'mores, all before the sun went down. We finally got a couple of pictures of Julia's teeth today!

Lunchtime Treat
Every time we visit Whole Foods, getting by the sushi case is a bit of a challenge. Alex loves to get sushi there and while I don't always oblige, today I did. He thoroughly enjoyed his spicy salmon sushi roll for lunch, along with a glass of ice cold milk. That's our boy!
Big Grins!

Just a quick little comparison of the two cuties and their big grins! I think that I see some resemblance!

Tuckered Out
Yesterday, Alex had a friend over for a playdate, and of course, Little Miss Curious could not bear to take a nap and possibly miss out on any excitement. After the playdate was over, it was snacktime and as you can see, she didn't quite make it through her snacks because she was so exhausted.
Endless Enjoyment.....
Bro Bro showing Julia how to use the key in the Cozy Coupe
Happily pushing her around in the backyard. We took the Bumbo seat out, so she's like a little old lady who cannot see over the steering wheel now.
Oh so happy in her car!
Checking out the scenery.
Who knew that a secondhand Cozy Coupe could provide so much entertainment for two kiddos? Julia loves to go in it and Alex loves to push her around, so it is a perfect match (as long as we don't try to go "off roading" or "like a racecar".

Lovin' the Backyard
These kiddos love the backyard, that is for sure! Julia is doing her best to keep up with the big brother and is doing a pretty good job of it! As you can see, she doesn't want to get her knees poked, so she resorts to using her feet.

Playdate
Julia and I went over to Montclair today for a playdate with James and Julie. The two little ones are only four days apart and they had a fun time exploring all of James' toys and sharing some snacks. James is a super happy little guy, full of smiles, with some good dance moves! Thanks for having us over, Julie! It was good to catch up and watch the little ones play together.
A Garden!
Over the past couple of weekends we have been making and planting a raised bed in the backyard. We don't have a lot of flat land with full sun on our lot, so we decided that a small raised bed was probably the best way to go. Alex and David made a level spot on an unused corner of the yard and then built a little raised bed using some landscaping bricks and we had a new little garden spot. We planted quite a few things, including French pole beans, a French round zuchinni, tomatillos, three kinds of basil, two kinds of cilantro, three varieties of chili peppers, oregano, a dwarf sunflower and some flowers for color and to attract butterflies and bees. Outside of the raised bed we have four kinds of tomatoes, some bush beans, sage, two kinds of thyme and some rosemary. Looking forward to seeing how our little project progresses over the summer!
