Mimi in the Sand
Julia tried out the sandbox for the first time today and she liked it. Now, we just need to work on not eating the sand, and we need to convince the big brother that he can share the sandbox which has been "his" for the past three years.

Food Truck!
While in Emeryville the other day, I decided to try to find one of the many food trucks which are there during lunchtime hours. We happened to find Ebbett's Good to Go and nice enough, they were parked right next to a nice shady park. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, which is their trademark sandwich and we also had a grilled cheese with provolone, bacon and Portobello mushrooms. Add some hibiscus limeade and a picnic was made. We all enjoyed the food and relaxed in the shade on a hot summery day. Now, if only we could get a truck like that in Moraga. Ha!
Little Garden Girl
Some photos of the little sweetie occupying herself while we were gardening the other day. She was enjoying exploring every little woodchip, stick and blade of grass, and of course, trying to put each of them in her mouth. It was a warm summerlike day, so pants were optional.
Kitchen Tool Drawer
This weekend, Julia finally discovered the kitchen tool drawer. We have an overabundance of tools in our kitchen and this messy drawer needs to be organized, but it kept Julia quite happy while I was cooking the other day. She tried out all kinds of tool, looking for the perfect one to chew on.

Alex Biking in the Park
Alex continues to enjoy his big boy bike and took it to the park last weekend to take advantage of some of the hills.
A Tooth!!
Look who is finally getting some teeth....yep, Miss Julia! Took awhile, but they are coming through. Of course, all of the drool earlier on was nothing. I thought they were coming in when she was three months....good thing I didn't bet on that! They are coming in with no drool, no fussing, she is a trooper. We'll have to show Dr. Lety when we are there next week.

The Big Boy and the Little Easter Egg
Thanks Grandma Elaine for the cute little Spring outfit for Julia. We kept thinking that she looked like a cute little Easter egg all day yesterday.

Easter Eggs!
The kiddos dyed Easter eggs this afternoon. Well, Alex dyed them and Julia watched intently. After they were finished, I gave one to Julia to see what she would do with it and she cleverly started pounding it and cracked it open and found herself a treat. Clever girl. Alex thought it was hilarious and kept saying that Julia had made a "pinata" egg. Yep, definitely our children, always interested in the food aspect of things. Ha!

Briones in the Springtime
It's Spring Break this week, so in the interest of enjoying the beautiful weather, the kiddos and I went for a hike in Briones Regional Park this morning. We packed a picnic lunch and headed up the Old Briones Road Trail to the crest, where there is a nice little area to have a picnic. On our journey we saw some turkey vultures, hawks, three coyotes, lots of little ground squirrels and some cows. At the top, we had our picnic and Alex and Julia enjoyed exploring the area. Julia slept all the way there, so she was completely enthralled with checking out the grass and everything else on the ground once we got there. I had anticipated that the wildflowers would be out in full force, but that wasn't really the case. I'm sure our weird and dry weather has disrupted the schedule for them. Just a good reason to go again sometime soon. The last time we went to see the wildflowers there was when Alex was just a bit over one. When I look at this post, that seems like ages ago! http://smaskensbaby.blogspot.com/2009/04/briones-in-springtime.html
