Cousins
David's Uncle Anthony and his new grandson Kai
Julia and Cousin Rena
Julia and Kai
Alex, Julia and Kai
We had a fun visit with David's cousin Rena, her husband Jim, their new little guy Kai, and David's Uncle Anthony on Sunday. We had a nice lunch and were able to introduce the babies to one another. Kai was born five weeks ago and is a little cutie. As you can see, he and Julia did their best to sit up and look at the camera, although they may have become a little distracted by other interesting things, like one's fingers.
Moraga Pear Festival
We headed down to the Moraga Commons on Saturday to enjoy the annual Pear Festival. It was a fun time, eating pear pie, listening to music, watching some grape stomping and of course, making full use of the jumpy houses. They had alot of them and Alex loved it! He ran into his friend Sydney from school and they had a great time jumping their little bodies around and sliding down the giant slide. Definitely a fun day!

Cutie!
Hi there!
Hmmm...these hands are pretty cool! (Look at those chubby cheeks!)
Thanks Rod and Carol for the super cute sundress, which we are putting to very good use in our "Fall" 90+ degree weather!

3 1/2 Months!
It's hard to believe, but Miss Julia is already three and a half months old. As you can see, she is practicing her tummy time and has quite the strong little neck. She is super curious and very alert, always wanting to see what is going on around her. She is especially interested in her Big Brother and his every move. There are definitely some huge smiles given to Bro Bro every day. The ceiling fans are her favorite thing to watch and she enjoys looking up at the trees in the backyard as well. She seems to treat both as very large mobiles for her entertainment. She's a very smiley and happy little girl, except for when she is in the car. I always thought that babies loved the car, until I had babies of my own and realized that not all babies do love the car. Alex hated the car, or perhaps more accurately, the bucket carseat, as well, and if it is possible, Julia might hate it more than he did! If not the winner, she is definitely giving him a run for his money! Hopefully when she moves to a bigger carseat which allows for more visibility and less warmth she will like the car better. That is what worked for Alex, so there is hope. For the moment, the car rides are pretty short and not so fun. We are having alot of fun with our cute little addition!

Art
When I woke up this morning, the boys were already up and busy working on an art project. David had drawn a pteranadon at Alex's request and Alex was busy coloring it in. This is the end result. I loved the orange stripe detail. Good job boys!
Second photo is another dino which David drew and Alex just finished coloring after getting home from school. So colorful!

Reach and Grab
While she was supervising dinner preparation last night, Miss Julia figured out how to reach and grab and rings hanging from her elephant toy. She was quite happy with herself, as she has been trying to figure out how to do this for some time now. Once she grabbed on, she was hanging on tight. In fact, the release was a bit of a frustrating maneuver. Perhaps next time it will be a bit easier. Good job, Mimi!

Labor Day Morning
We spent the morning hanging out at the baseball field near the elementary school, enjoying the sunshine and playing some ball. As you can see, there were a variety of spectators, including wild turkeys and of course, a cute girl named Julia. On the way out we picked some blackberries too, so it was quite a fun morning.

Good Question....
As we walked to the Farmer's Market this morning, we passed a public telephone, and Alex looked at it and then turned to us and said, "what is that?" I guess it is true, you don't see public telephones too often anymore, but it was pretty funny when he asked us.
