Summer Swim Time

Practice those kicks

A little circle time with a bob at the end for the daring.

A little one on one time practicing kicking.

Today was the first day of swim lessons for Alex.  This is the first year that he has been able to go to lessons without having me go with him in the water.  Julia and I sat on the sidelines and watched as he got accustomed to his teachers and the water.  It has been awhile since he's been in the water, so it took a bit of time to get adjusted, and it seems like the water was quite chilly too, so maybe we will get out the wetsuit for tomorrow.  He doesn't have the body fat like Momma to keep him warm ;-), so he needs something a bit extra I think.

I Love You, Mei Mei!

Just wanted to share some cute pics of Alex and Julia, which David took this morning.  Alex does love his little Mei Mei.

Happy 4th of July!

 All aboard!

Julia and Teddy, the youngest party goers

A fun 4th of July was had by all yesterday, with a parade, a barbeque and fireworks to close out the night.  It is hard to believe that this is the fourth parade for Johnny and Alex.  Where did the time go?  Teddy and Julia attended their first parade as well.  Julia managed to sleep through the entire event.

In the afternoon, everyone came out to our house for the first official barbeque, which was alot of fun.  The kids had a blast playing in the "kid wash" which David made this weekend, along with the new Stomp Rocket which Alex received from the Lee's.  I'm sure both of those will be used alot more this summer for endless entertainment.  There was plenty of running around and just having fun.  The adults enjoyed hanging out on the deck in the shade, eating and have some good conversation.  We were even able to enjoy some of the music from the park, from the backyard.  Thanks to everyone for pitching in and making the barbeque a success.

After everyone went home, we walked down the lane across from our house to catch the Moraga fireworks, which Alex enjoyed, although he thought they were a little loud.  Not loud enough for him to watch, but enough to cover his ears and enjoy the visuals instead.  Hope everyone had a happy 4th, especially Uncle Brant, who celebrated his 35th!  Happy Belated Birthday!!
