Alex had a super fun Halloween today! He dressed up as the pigeon from the Mo Willems' books. If you are not familiar with those books and you have little ones in your life, you should definitely check them out. They are cute and funny, for both the parents and the kids. Alex's favorite right now is "Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late". It is part of our bedtime reading rotation and is always a hit. The pigeon comes up with excuse after excuse about why he should stay up late. Hmmm....doesn't sound like anyone I know!

He has been an excellent fit model for the past couple of weeks while I have been sewing the costume and was really quite excited to put it on anytime I asked him, which was great. He wore it all afternoon and had a great time at the fabulous Halloween party which Carrie, Pat and Johnny hosted. It was an afternoon filled with fun, friends, great food and lots of cute little kiddies in costume. Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Welcome to the new cousin on the block, Mackenna Anne, who was born on Tuesday the 27th of October! She weighed in at 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long. Everyone is healthy and happy, and as you can see, Landen is a great big brother. We can hardly wait to meet you in November, Mackenna! Congrats to Brant, Bonnie and Landen, on the new addition.

Alex and I had a blast carving pumpkins with the Lee's over at their house this evening. It was fun to sit out in the backyard and carve and decorate pumpkins, while sipping wine and enjoying this beautiful Fall weather. Johnny and Alex helped with the scooping out of the seeds and then did a great job of decorating with markers. Carrie and I broke out the knives and carved up a couple of pumpkins of our own as well. It has been a long time since I have carved a pumpkin!

Afterwards, we finished off the evening with some yummy Zachary's pizza and Carrie's delicious brownies. When we arrived home, I put a tealight in our pumpkin, turned out the lights and lit it and Alex was quite intrigued. He had a great time with his buddy as usual. Thanks to Carrie, Pat and Johnny for the invitation!

We sent Daddy off to Malaysia at the airport last night, which was sad, but I'm glad he could go and be with the rest of the family this week. This morning Alex and I hit up LaFarine for a morning snack of scones and milk and then headed to the zoo with some friends for "Boo at the Zoo". Since Alex's costume is still in progress (hey, I still have a week!), he was not dressed up, but fortunately, most of our friends were not either, so we did not miss out.

Alex had fun leading the way to his favorites, the macaws ("caws") and the monkeys. They had facepainting as well, and Alex was so good about sitting still so that the lady could paint a macaw on his arm. He was quite happy with the end result and has looked at it quite a few times already. Hopefully when it washes off this evening it will not be too traumatic. We had a little lunch, took a SkyRide, talked to some firemen who gave Alex a red fire hat and then headed home. Alex was asleep before we reached the freeway, which is always a sign of a good day at the zoo.

We received very sad news this morning that Ah Mah (David's grandma) passed away. We will all miss her very much, but are happy that we were able to see her twice in the past couple of years, despite the long distance which separated us. Fortunately, Alex met his Tai Mah last December in Hong Kong and was able to spend some fun times with her. Ah Mah was the rock of her family and her vibrant spirit and bright smile will live on in our memories forever. We love you Ah Mah.

Johnny and Alex had another fun playdate at the playground the other day. It was a bit wet from the rain, but that never deters their ability to have fun. Amazingly, they can still share the cozy coupe. It is quite "cozy", but they still manage to both fit in it.

It is hard to believe it is already Fall again. It seems like just a few months ago when we visited the pumpkin farm last. We had an awesome pumpkin farm trip today with the Graham-Lee family! We set out early this morning to Farmer John's Pumpkin Farm in Half Moon Bay, and it was worth the drive. The boys had so much fun with the pumpkins, the big John Deere tractor, the tunnels and the straw piles. There was a great variety of super cool pumpkins and reasonable prices to boot. Afterwards we went for lunch in Half Moon Bay to round out a memorable pumpkin patch trip. Happy Fall everyone!

On our trip to the zoo today Alex enjoyed the macaws and monkeys and he had fun saying hi to every sheep and goat at the zoo. On the way back up towards the exit Alex told me this, "Mama Alex sit choo-choo". It is certainly hard to not understand that! He wanted to sit on the choo-choo before we left, so we did. We took a ride on the carousel as well, as the choo-choo had just pulled out of the station by the time we got up there. A sentence, wow....my baby is not a baby anymore!
