Alex's Big Hero 6 Birthday Party! 7 Years Old!

Onigiri--rice balls with tuna inside and seaweed eyes.
 Alex's Baymax cake.
Colby, Everett, Alex, Bobby, Michael and Riley and their recycled robot creations.
Michael hula-hooping as part of one of the challenges.
Alex and Riley working together to solve one of the clues.
On the downslope trying to find the next clue.
Bobby and Alex working on the next puzzle.
Lots of teamwork to try to figure out the answer.
Checking out the treasure once they found it and brought it up.
 Snacktime!
Making Baymaxes out of toilet paper.
 Time for cake.
Make a wish!

Alex chose a Big Hero 6 theme for his birthday party.  I planned a treasure hunt for he and his friends, which involved solving various puzzles to find the next clue in the sequence.  Once they found all of the clues and solved them, they were finally given a clue to find the treasure.  They also made "robots" out of recycling and made two people into "Baymax" using toilet paper.  A lot of fun was had and we rounded out the afternoon with onigiri and a Baymax cake.

Julia's 3rd Birthday Party!

We had a birthday party on Saturday for Julia's 3rd birthday.  Since she likes the movie, "Frozen", she wanted to have a "Frozen" party.   We had a few of our good friends over and the kiddos played and we all had some wine, food and of course, some cake.  Jules debuted her Elsa dress and even took her "motorcycle" for a spin in her new dress.  It was a beautiful day for a party, so we enjoyed it to the fullest.

Alex's 6th Birthday Party

Last Saturday, we finally had Alex's birthday party with his friends.  The first part of February was really busy with a couple of Chinese New Year parties, followed by a holiday weekend, but it worked out great to have it last weekend, because the weather was absolutely gorgeous, with temperatures around 70 degrees.  It made for a great day to have a party outside.  Since he is still quite the Lego fan, we had another Lego themed party.  Going to The Lego Movie at the drive-in the weekend before added to the excitement of having a Lego party.  The bonus was that we re-used some of the items from last year's Lego party and since it was an entirely different group of kids, they all had a great time.

There was Lego car building, racing on the ramp, a bean bag toss into a giant Lego, some tag, painting Lego themed shirts and of course, everyone enjoyed cake.  It was a great day for a party and Alex had alot of fun with his seven friends, and of course, the little sister.

Last night the Bertains and the Chias came over for a hot pot party to celebrate Chinese New Year.  We had all kinds of goodies for the hot pot and everyone brought some yummy Chinese treats to help celebrate. The kids had a fun time playing, as always and we finished off the night with a birthday cake for Alex.  Happy Birthday, Buddy!
