We had a fun campfire on Saturday night with the Grandmas.  We all enjoyed watching the fire and then worked on perfecting the art of roasting marshmallows, before devouring them with some cold milk.

Julia's 2nd Birthday!

We celebrated Jules' 2nd birthday last week.  Hard to believe that she is already two years old!  She requested a purple cake, so I made her cupcakes with purple frosting and made them into a "bouquet" of flowers.  She really liked the idea of her birthday this year and practiced singing the "birday" song in the weeks leading up to it.  She also had a handle on blowing out candles and that this was a major part of the celebration.  We picked up some helium balloons for her on that day and she was exclaiming "birday" everywhere we went on our shopping outing.  We will have a party with some friends and family this weekend, and I am sure that Julia will enjoy going through the process again!

Playdate

Alex's friend,  Demetra came over for a playdate last week and he and Julia had alot of fun with her, as you can see.  They played everything from police, to pirates, mice, king, queen and princess to boaters hosting a tea party on the boat.

We took BART into the city today for a little adventure.  We went to the Ferry Building and had a lunch of ramen from Hapa Ramen and tamales from Donna's Tamales.  Everyone enjoyed their food and then we took a streetcar up to Pier 39 to see the sea lions.  We watched them for awhile, watched some birds, looked over at Alcatraz, where Alex would now like to visit and then took a ride on the carousel, before heading back on the streetcar to The Ferry Building.  Quite a fun day with Jia Ying!
