Oh My.....

Are you kidding me? When Alex and Julia said they found a spider, (and were very excited) I was NOT expecting this! I like nature, but this.....not so much.  Alex said it is HUMUNGOUS.....I would agree.

Easter Eggs

It was a gorgeous afternoon, so we dyed Easter eggs outside on the patio.  Both of the kiddos had alot of fun, mixing colors and experimenting to see what the eggs would look like when dipped multiple times.  We used some crayon to make their initials, although, I think it was too warm, so it didn't show up well.  We put rubber bands around the eggs too, to make lines and then dipped them after doing that and they actually came up with some cool designs.  Add in some bubbles and it was a pretty good Friday afternoon!

Miss Debbie hands out more loot

Alex's class had their Easter celebration today at school.  They dyed eggs, made Easter bunny ears, had lots of snacks and went on an Easter egg hunt.  Throw in some songs, a Bible story and some special treats and it was quite a morning.  We made some Jello Jiggler eggs, per Miss Debbie's request and I was pleasantly surprised at how they turned out.  For some reason there was a shortage of lemon jello at the store, so I didn't get to use yellow as one of the colors for very many eggs as I would have liked to, but the kiddos enjoyed them regardless of color!  Since there were also some Rice Krispie treat eggs, we decided to balance out the choices, by making a couple of "gardens" with bunny snacks to share as well.  I'm happy to say that there weren't many veggies left at the end of it all, even though it seemed like I received quite a few "no thank yous" when passing them around.  Oh well, one can only try, right?

Ride 'em Cowboy!

Cardboard boxes can be so much fun!  Thank you, Santa, for bringing Alex's bike in such a big, fun box!

Sewing with Monkeys

This is a picture I took of what it looks like when I sew at our house.  These two were fascinated when I was making their travel trays for our road trip a couple of weeks ago.  They think that it is hilarious that you can "drive" the sewing machine so fast and Alex has always thought that when I hit the button to cut the thread the machine says, "David, chick boom-a".  Hence, his cheesy grin.  Needless to say, not sewing any major projects at the moment.

Hike in Briones

We took a three hour family hike yesterday in Briones Regional Park and everyone was a trooper!  We went a total of 4.85 miles and took  the Old Briones Road trail up to the lookout point and after taking a snack break and watching the cows enjoying the lagoon below, we headed further up and then started a descent back down via the Mott Peak Trail and then the Black Oak Trail.  We saw lots of cows, some pretty wildflowers and some birds, including hawks, turkey vultures, ducks, coots and a Great Grey Heron.  It was a gorgeous day to get out and enjoy the beautiful park.
