Outing to the Park

Hi all!

I celebrated my three week birthday yesterday by taking an outing to the park. We took a picnic to Point Isabel and walked around the shoreline and enjoyed the beautiful weather. My big sister was quite happy to be able to show me one of her favorite spots to spend time. The weather this week has been great, so we wanted to make sure that we enjoyed it, and we certainly did. Here's a picture of me, my dad, and my big sister....you can't see me, but I'm sleeping in my stroller. I love to take rides and sleep in the stroller!

Rainy Day

Hi everyone! A big storm is about to hit the Bay Area and we're inside the house, staying nice and warm. We did take an outing this morning and went to The Ferry Building in San Francisco to do some shopping and go for lunch. Grandma is going back home today, so we thought it would be nice to take her out, since she has been doing alot of stuff around here all week.

Here are some updates for you.....went to the doctor yesterday and Alex is gaining weight like a champ. He has also grown an inch since he was born, so we are very happy. He is eating well, that is for sure!

We all went out in his new stroller that his dad customized, earlier this week, as you can see in the pictures. It was fun to get out and about in the neighborhood.

Alex took his first bath in the big bathtub today, which wasn't particularly enjoyable for him, but hopefully at some point he will see the comfort of a good warm bath. As the picture shows, he was happier once he has his little duck towel around him and was nowhere near the water.

2 weeks!

Hi all!
I am about to turn 2 weeks old tonight. Wow, it has been a pretty fast 14 days. I have kept my mom and dad on quite a schedule as I have my dad's metabolism or something, I get hungry every 2 or so hours! I really like hanging out with my grandma Elaine and my big sister Xena. I love it when she licks my feet.
I love to wiggle around when I am awake and am looking around as much as I can. There is sooo much to see around me. I also love modern jazz and Sarah Mclachlan, Sting not so much. But my favorite is the kitchen hood vent fan, the louder the better.

My First Monday

Hey, who said Mondays are so bad! Hopefully if yours was, these will cheer you up. Just some snapshots from Monday morning.....Cute and cuddly in daddy's arms, sleeping with my bear (we look like twins, huh?), kisses from my sister, and taking a cruise in the car to see the doctor. I'm 4 Days Old!

Hi everyone! It's Alex here, just wanted to let you know that everything is going well here in Oaktown. I'm at home with my mom and dad and big sister now and things are pretty good. I'm having mommy type this for me, since I'm a little short to reach the keyboard. Mommy tells me that as of this minute, I am four days old. Wow!

I've been doing alot in the past four days. I eat, and I sleep, I try to be as cute as possible and of course, I practice using my nice strong lungs. I have found that I really like being bounced on the bouncy ball that Scott and Tina gave to mommy and daddy. I seem to remember mommy bouncing on it before I came out too. It is a really cool place to hang out, and daddy says that it will make his tummy really tough. See, I'm just in it to help out my parents---I'm such a good kid.

It has been really nice outside here. Originally I wasn't going to come out and visit everyone until next week, but I decided that since it is so warm outside, this would be the perfect time to come out. Mommy was power-walking earlier this week and she really seemed like she wanted to see me, so I said, the forecast looks good---I'm going to go this week.

Well, I just wanted to say hi to everyone and let you know that I'm enjoying being here. I cannot wait to meet everyone, it just may take me a few weeks to get ready. Talk to you later.

Alexander Li Yong Chng

We are very happy to announce the arrival of Alexander Li Yong Chng. He was born on Wednesday night, February 6th, at 10:34 pm. He weighed in at 7 lb 6 oz and is 19.5 in long.
He has a cute button nose and a very healthy set of lungs. He has impeccable timing, he was able to sneak into the year of the Pig with less than 1 1/2 hours to spare. So now, we have a family of pigs.
We have returned home from the hospital after a 2 night stay. Janelle and Alexander are both recovering well. Thanks for the many well wishes via phone/email. We will respond in the next couple of weeks.
More details will follow, but for now, we are ecstatic that Alexander is healthy and happy.

Peanut Has a New Friend!

Hi everyone! Good news, Evelyn and Dan had their baby! Cole Harris Blank was born on February 1st, 2008 at 2:35 am, weighing in at 9 pounds 7 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. Congrats to the new parents and welcome Cole! We can't wait to meet you.
