The Real Sewing Project

After practicing with paper and no thread, he graduated to fabric and thread...the real deal. We decided to make a "reading pillow". Quite appropriate for the bookworm. He did a great job and loves his new reading pillow!

Alex has wanted to learn how to sew for months now. I told him that during the summertime he could learn. The week when Jules was in ballet camp, we tackled it. I thought that starting out "sewing" paper without thread would be a good start.

4th of July Parade

Darn Deer!

Apparently he doesn't have a taste for herbs!

As you can see the deer managed to find the one tiny way to get into our backyard again. He cleared almost every single leaf from the fruit trees and ate about 15 pluots, leaving us a whole three pluots to enjoy. Wiped out all of the vegetables which were newly planted and stripped every tomato/blossom from the tomato plants. Grrrr...... Alex and David found him chowing down in the morning and Alex roared at him and they chased him out, but doubt he will be deterred.
