We spent day two fishing and hiking at Loon Lake.  Everyone had fun and even though no fish were caught, Alex and Julia both enjoyed the fishing experience.

It's not a road trip without In-N-Out!

This weekend we went up to Loon Lake, which is in El Dorado County, just outside of the Desolation Wilderness.  It was a fun weekend at the Loon Lake Chalet, which is a US Forest Service warming house for cross country skiing in the winter time.  They rent it out and you have access to the sleeping loft, a downstairs sitting room and small kitchen with running water.  No showers, but it was a fun time. We went fishing on Loon Lake, checked out the Rubicon Trail and practiced skipping rocks.

Alex's Last Day of First Grade!

The more times a word was used to describe her, the larger the font it is in.  As you can see, she is especially awesome, nice, amazing and smart.

Alex had his last day of first grade last Friday.  Hard to believe how quickly the year went by.  For the last day of school the first grade room moms (myself included) planned a field day for the kids which lasted for a couple of hours.  We planned out a bunch of relays and other games and luckily we had the field right away in the morning before it became ridiculously hot!  The kids had fun and are now off to be second graders!
