Light Sabers
Alex had a friend over for a playdate the other day and they ended up in a light saber battle. As you can see, Little Miss was right in there with them, with her own light saber and the SpiderGirl costume, for good measure.
The Pigeon Lives On!
Julia November 2013
Alex October 2009
The pigeon costume, inspired by Mo Willems' books including, "Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus", is still in circulation. Alex wore it for his second Halloween, and now Julia has taken to wearing it as well. We were surprised by how similar they look to one another in these photos.

First Crabs of the Season
We bought crabs off of the boat at Princeton by the Sea yesterday and then came home and boiled them up. As you can see, everyone enjoyed their dinner!
Tidepools
We have not been to the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve for awhile and yesterday there was a very low tide, so we decided to head over that way and take in some tidepooling and take advantage of the opening of Dungeness crab season as well. We saw quite a few sea stars, anemones, urchins, hermit crabs and tiny fish. It was much busier than any time we have ever been there, but then again, it was a gorgeous November day, so who wouldn't want to be there?

Final Soccer Game of the Season
The LMYA Man City KinderSoccer Team. Doughnuts and milk, the snack of champions!

Earlier in the season....loved this one because he has no feet on the ground!
Earlier in the season....loved this one because he has no feet on the ground!
Alex finished up his first season of LMYA soccer this past Saturday. He had alot of fun on his KinderSoccer team, which was comprised of boys and girls all from Los Perales Elementary. They made alot of progress over the season and all seemed to enjoy their time playing soccer. I think that Alex will miss playing outside, but I think that he will try indoor soccer this winter, with some of these teammates.
Troopers
Cuties out to lunch at La Boulange after receiving their flu shots at Kaiser. Unfortunately, I had them all prepped for the FluMist and then when we got there, they had just run out and didn't know when they would get more. I gave them a little pep talk about just getting a quick jab instead and they totally went with it, no tears. Julia did say "ouch" to the nurse, but nothing more!
At Zachary's
David sent this pic to me yesterday. Julia and I in the window at Zachary's patiently waiting to be seated and eat some yummy pizza.

Silly Girl
One of Julia's new favorite bags. A purple Crown Royal bag. Gotta love it. At least people get a kick out of it.

Julia's New Room!
How the room looked when we bought the house
How the room looks now!
I realized that I hadn't posted any pics of Julia's new room yet. She still needs some artwork on the walls, but everything else is basically finished. The photos are taken from a similar angle, although her room photo is taken from the new door which we placed in the hallway wall. We replaced the slider door and the window on the far wall was moved to the left to center it within the room. It is a nice room and Julia loves it!

Julia's Tattoo
A pic of Julia's beloved glitter tattoo from the Fall Carnival. This was after a few days, but it was a very cool tattoo.
SpiderGirl and Obi Wan Kenobi
Julia and Alex chose SpiderGirl and Obi Wan Kenobi as their costumes of choice this year. Previously, Julia wanted to be a ladybug girl, but then within the two weeks leading up to Halloween she decided she wanted to be Spiderman. I thought I would add a tutu, since she loves tutus and it is probably appropriate for her to be SpiderGirl, as much as she loves spiders! Alex is obsessed with Star Wars as of late and he chose Obi Wan Kenobi as his character whom he wanted to be. Both were easy costumes to make, probably the easiest of all of the Halloweens and they will wear them again and again, so definitely a win-win.
We went trick or treating to a few neighborhood houses, like we normally do and they had alot of fun. Julia would run up to the door without hesitation and loudly say trick or treat and thank you. Alex, was still his shy self for most of the run. He would get the words out, just not as boldly as Julia. They had a fun time, as it is always enjoyable to walk around at night and see all of the other costumed kids out too. They were quite excited about their candy haul and have been having a piece each day to stretch it out. Hope you had a Happy Halloween!
Halloween Parade at LP
Young Obi Wan watching the parade
Some of Obi Wans classmates waiting for their turn in the parade
More classmates
About half of Obi Wan's class
On Halloween, Julia and I went to the Halloween Parade at Alex's school. It was quite a well attended event, with lots of parents and grandparents there to watch each grade parade around the playground in their costumes. I never remember Halloween being such a big deal when we were younger, but it certainly seems to be quite an event here.
